Petition for Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) 

Responsibilities

  • Administering land use controls that guide property development within the unincorporated areas of the county
  • Providing assistance on federal, state, and local regulations regarding wetlands, construction, and subdivision of land
  • Managing tax forfeit property for the county's forestry, recreation, and land asset management activities encompassing 105,000 acres of county public forest land.

Methods of Management

Management is based upon professional natural resource management practices and techniques, Minnesota Statutes relating to the management of tax forfeited lands, and county board policies and directives.

Investing in the County

The sale of timber and land at public auctions during the year funds the County's management of these lands, while providing revenues to local communities.
