Short Term Rental
On January 3rd, 2023, Crow Wing County passed a Short Term Rental (STR Licensing Ordinance requiring all property owners that operate a short term rental within the County’s Planning and Zoning jurisdiction and those cities or other local government units (LGUs) who have a contract with the County to regulate STRs in those areas, to obtain a license through the county beginning upon Board approval. Licenses are renewed each year in January, regardless of when prior year’s license was issued. In addition to these Crow Wing County licensing requirements, it is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that the property meets any local short-term rental requirements of the city or township in which the property is located.

The form is only valid during the winter months each year.
If you are not connected to an on-site individual septic treatment system (ISTS), but instead are connected to a city/municipal sewer or a local sanitary sewer district, a wavier form will need to be filled out and attached to your application.
