Specific Service Signs
Specific service signs, those that direct travelers to a specific tourism-related business, are ordered and installed by the Highway Department along county roads. The county's policy regarding approval of specific service was approved by the County Board on 08/12/2008. The cost of a Specific Service Sign is $500.00 (plus tax). Sign Maintenance
On August 9, 2011, Crow Wing County adopted a traffic sign retro-reflectivity maintenance policy (PDF)Opens in New Window for maintenance of signs on roads under county jurisdiction. Street Name Signs
On October 25, 2022, Crow Wing County updated the Street Name Sign Policy (PDF) for signs installed by the County. Local agencies installing their own signs are able to use their own procedures and materials.
E-911 Address Signs
The assignment of new addresses and installation of E-911 signs are handled by Land Services in the Land Services office.
