Jail
The Crow Wing County Jail is a direct supervision facility housing both sentenced and pretrial adult male and female offenders. The facility is licensed by the State of Minnesota to house up to 276 inmates, separated into five housing units. Our jail staff works around the clock to keep the jail safe and secure for adults in custody, staff and visitors.
This 78,000-square-foot facility opened in 2007 and includes a gymnasium, full-service medical unit, library, computer lab, laundry facilities, fully staffed kitchen, master control center, and a pre-book and booking area.
Each housing unit contains video visitation, telephones, a television, gaming and dining tables, canteen/vending machines, a recreational area with a natural lighting source and a classroom.

Public Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting for licensing, non-criminal purposes and court-ordered fingerprints are completed in the Crow Wing County Judicial Center, located at 213 Laurel Street, Brainerd, MN 56401.
This service is offered Tuesday through Thursday, between the hours of 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. An appointment is required at least one day in advance. Appointments can be made by calling 218-822-7050 (press "0").
A valid photo ID and $10.00 are required at the time of fingerprinting. The fee can be paid by cash or debit/credit card. Prints are done electronically (LiveScan) and copies are available to you immediately on FD-258 cards.

Fingerprints needed for employment or licensing within childcare, adult care and child foster care are handled by Crow Wing County Community Services. For scheduling, please visit Crow Wing County Community Services or call 1-844-539-5541.
Victim Notification
Victim Information & Notification Everyday (VINE) is a free, anonymous, computer-based service that provides victims and other concerned citizens timely and reliable information about criminal cases and the custody status of offenders 24 hours a day. One can register to be notified by phone, email or TTY device when an offender's custody status changes.
Visit VINE and then select the state where the offender is located. Follow the instructions to register for notifications.
If you feel that you may be at risk, please take precautions as if the offender has already been released.
